About
WellDosed is an independent source of evidence-based supplement information, starting with the South African market. We publish evidence-graded guides, currently 13 supplement monographs, covering benefits, risks, dosage, and interactions, and we're expanding that library over time. Beyond the monographs, the stack builder lets you check your whole stack of supplements and medicines at once, it flags documented interactions (including combined serotonergic load across several agents) and builds a daily schedule that spaces out conflicting doses, with a printable view. The same interaction data is browsable directly on the interactions pages.
What makes it different
- Every claim carries an evidence grade, not just a confident tone. See our editorial policy for the rubric.
- Every claim cites a source you can check yourself: a PMID or DOI, not a vague “studies show.”
- Monograph pages show documented interaction data alongside common medications, so risks aren't an afterthought.
- We're honest when the evidence is weak. A supplement with only animal or anecdotal support is graded and described as such, not dressed up.

Anyone deciding whether a supplement is worth taking, and wanting a straight answer about what the evidence actually supports, before reading marketing copy or a retailer's product page.
Price comparison
A monograph's “Where to buy” section lists every South African retailer we currently hold a price for on that product, each row names the retailer and the date we last checked it. Alongside the shelf price we show cost per day at the stated elemental dose, not just the sticker price on the bottle. We have no affiliate relationships with any retailer today and earn no commission on these links; every one is a plain link to the retailer's own product page. Coverage is limited while we add more retailers and products.
Independence and how we make money
WellDosed is independent: no supplement manufacturer or retailer pays for or influences the evidence grades, rankings, or which products appear on the site. Our plan for revenue is affiliate links, as price comparison expands, some retailer links may in future earn a commission on referred sales, clearly disclosed.
